Got a habit
you're looking to change?
First of all, kudos for acknowledging it.
That's the first step. And if you work with me, you can be certain I won't push you to take the next step until you're ready. What I will do is help you get ready, help you know when you're ready, and help you prepare for the big steps, whenever you choose to take them.
I'm trained in a model of habit change proven twice as effective as any other researched program. This model, described in the book, Changing for Good, by James Prochaska et al, has been acclaimed by:
- the National Cancer Institute,
- the Centers for Disease Control,
- the American Lung Association, and
- Britain's National Health Service, among others.
The Changing for Good model is effective because it was developed not in an ivory tower, but by studying thousands of successful self-changers, and noting how they ... well, changed for good.
The secret: change isn't a one-time, stand-alone event. It's a process. And if we don't take into account the stages in that process – from "I ain't even considering changing," through, "I'm gettin' ready," and all the way to, "I've changed, but I'm still trying to avoid temptation" – if we don't honor all the stages, we're not likely to achieve long-term success.
